First, you’ll want to find a full-coverage fit. “Plus-size bras typically offer full-coverage cups that fully encapsulate and support the breasts, providing a comfortable and secure fit,” says Raymond. 

“Wide shoulder straps help distribute the weight of the breasts more evenly, reducing strain on the shoulders and providing better support,” Raymond adds, stressing that they should be adjustable (unless you’re specifically looking for a bandeau). “Straps that can be adjusted to the desired length allow for a more customized fit, accommodating different body shapes and personal preferences.” 

But straps and full-coverage cups aren’t all that matters. “A wide and strong band under the bust helps provide stability and support, so look for a bra with a band made from sturdy materials,” Raymond says. That means looking for those made “from soft, breathable fabrics (like polyester, nylon, or bamboo fibers) that wick away moisture to keep you comfortable throughout the day,” Raymond explains.
